Boyd Ranch Boys

Spur is our "# 1 " hand here at Boyd Ranch. We depend on his fervent work ethic to do all that is required here with our cattle (he never lets us down).  He is an extremely good"cattle dog" and has more cow sense then any dog we've ever owned! He is very serious and focused on wanting to please us in all that he does (at the end of a long hard day it's so obvious!) He is trustworthy and on task even before asked. He's a born protector and would give his very own life for us. It is amazing because he watches our every move and if he believe we're being threatened by cattle, he will run and place himself between us and the problem. We marvel at his eye contact, it's as though he's peeking into our souls! Spur is great with his "dog pack" and he enjoys their play time, however his favorite (besides working cattle) is rolling over and having is belly rubbed...

This is a dog that was meant to be mine the moment he was born (however, convincing my husband of this took a little more time) and I was instantly taken with him.  Today he is defiantly my dog and sticks to me like glue.  He reminds us so much of his father (Spur) in temperament and cattle sense, it amazes us. He loves working cattle and is very focused and always on task which is remarkable in a dog that is not fully seasoned. He has these intense blue eyes and has wonderful eye contact watching my every move waiting to please. He loves riding in the truck or on the 4-wheeler when we check cattle (yes, on the 4-wheeler running behind with the other dogs is a total waste of energy!)  He is much like his mama Dally in temperament too and hates any kind of drama or trouble (he just wants to be apart of the pack). Cutter is truly an awesome friend.
